The Work of Consciousness: A Visual Graph

I. THE KEY

Q= Quality of Consciousness

S= Scope of Consciousness

"DIM"= Low Quality/Low Scope. This person functions like a flickering light in a basement. The quality of life might be described as depressed.

"THE SAD CYNIC"= Low Quality/High Scope. High awareness of existence, but low subjective experience of it. They seem to know too much, but not the wisdom to live in accordance to their knowledge.

"HAPPY NAIVETY"= High Quality/Low Scope. High level of subjective satisfaction, but lacks the breadth and width of the human experience, especially when it comes to the shadow.

"THE SAGE" = High Quality/High Scope. Aware of existence is supreme and has the applied wisdom to live it at the highest quality.

II. THE WORK

DIM. Interventions are employed that both raise the quality of consciousness and increase their scope of awareness.

Interventions may include: Narrative Therapy, CBT, Self-Compassion Exercises, Psychoeducation.

THE SAD CYNIC. Interventions are employed that increase the quality of consciousness.

Interventions may include: Meditation, Hemi-Sync, Diet, Exercise, Breathwork, Cold Plunge.

HAPPY NAIVETY. Interventions are employed that increase their scope of awareness.

Interventions may include: Shadow Work, Depth Psychology, Hemi-Sync, Philosophy.

THE SAGE. Interventions are employed to strength, foster, and maintain mental, physical, and Spiritual disciplines.

Interventions may include: Hemi-Sync, Meditation, CrossFit, Cold Plunge, Philosophy.

III. THE GOAL

The aim is to become a sage. As stoic would say, "the goal is to become the philosopher-king." That is, to have the knowledge, depth, and understanding of existence while simultaneously having the wisdom to live in such a way as to enjoy life and the beauty of existence.
